SMS Review – Siva Manasulo Shruti Telugu Movie Review, Rating, SMS Film Review: A new star from Superstar Krishna, Mahesh Babu family makes debut with SMS, a remake of Tamil hit Siva Manasala Shakti (SMS). Tatineni Satya of ‘Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu’ fame directed it.
Story :

The story of this movie is wafer thin. Shiva (Sudheer Babu) is a carefree and brash young fellow who works in a courier company as a delivery boy. During a train journey, he comes across Shruti ( Regina ), who works as a radio jockey. Shiva instantly falls for Shruti and he starts trying to impress her. Shruti reluctantly starts reciprocating his love over time. But just as Shruti is about to express her love, Shiva breaks her heart with his careless nature and uncultured ways.

A love hate relationship begins as the story moves back and forth between love failure and success. Jealousy, possessiveness and anger rear their ugly heads.Towards the end, the movie takes an unexpected twist.Shiva and Shruti are forced to take a stand over their future. What will they do? That forms the story

Plus Points :

Sudheer Babu impresses with his superb dances. He is also very good in fight sequences. For a debut movie, his performance is pretty solid. He has shown good energy and with a little more grooming, he can do very well in future.

Regina is simply superb in the role of Shruti. She looks gorgeous and her performance is impressive. She looks especially good in sarees. Her expressions in emotional scenes have come out well. She has a bright future in the industry and will surely be an actress to watch out for in future.

Chanti evokes some laughs as the hero’s sidekick. Thagubothu Ramesh makes a brilliant cameo appearance towards the end. The romantic track between Sudheer and Regina has been shot well in parts and there are some very good scenes that strike an immediate chord with the audience.

The hero’s character has been etched out well and it is entertaining. The first half moves along at a pretty rapid pace .

Minus Points:

Sudheer needs to work on his diction and voice modulation, especially in emotional sequences. The film loses tempo in the second half as the director tries to create conflict points. Rohini goes overboard a few times in the role of the Hero’s mother.

The placement of the songs could have been better. Some of the songs come in at the wrong time to disrupt the flow in the momentum. Vennela Kishore has been wasted in a poorly etched character.

While decent overall, some of the ‘comedy’ scenes between the hero and his sidekick fail to bring about the desired laughs.

Technical Aspects:

Production values are rich. Cinematography is pretty good and the visuals are bright. Choreography of dance and fight sequences deserves special mention. Dialogues are ok. Editing could have been better. Selva Ganesh’s music is good in parts. Background score is decent.

Tatineni Satya’s direction is largely good. Screenplay should have been tighter in the second half.

Verdict :

Sudheer Babu makes a good debut with SMS. His superb dances and fights will make a good impression. Regina is a major asset for the movie and she will be an instant hit with young people. SMS is a tale built around the conflicting emotions experienced by the hero and the heroine as they try to decide whether they love each other or not. Go without too many expectations and SMS will be a decent flick to catch.

nitin ISHQ movie review

Our Rating : 3.25/5
Film: Ishq
Cast : Nitin , Nitya Menon , Ajay , Nagineedu , Sindhu Tulani

Cinematography : P.C.Sriram

Director : Vikram K kumar

Producer :  M.Vikram Goud

Story:
Rahul (Nitin) is a happy go lucky guy, who gets attracted by Priya (Nithya Menon), his co passenger on a flight. Unexpected things happen and after initial cat fights, they both turn good friends. After sometime they fall in love with each other and when things seem brighter, Priya’s elder brother Shiva (Ajay) enters the scene. Rahul and Shiva had a fight in the past and that is enough for Shiva to say no to Rahul’s love. What does he do to succeed in love is the rest of the story.
Performance:

Nitin enjoyed working as Rahul. Away from routine beaten characterizations, Nitin tried differently with a mild role. His touch of humor, shortened histrionics are influential. Nithya Menon is a delight for eyes. She has gorgeous look and is the real charm of film. Ajay as short tempered Siva formed the crucial character in second half. Nagineedu, Sudha are good. Comedy by Ali in one scene with Ajay was interesting. Sindhu Tulani, Duvvasi, Rohini etc formed the remaining padding.

Analysis:

Story of the film written by Vikram is run of the mill subject. He made the difference by offering a courteous expression in treatment. Rather narration went on at mild pace it is cinematographer PC Sriram’s beautiful capturing of romantic chemistry between lead pair is strong backbone for Ishq. Music by Anup Rubens is inconsistent in background. Musical score for songs is finer. Apparently loop holes in script came to fore only in second half as Nithya’s character looses its attitude for no benefit. Nitin stood on his advantages to drive the story for a happy ending thankfully at the loss of well maintained romanticism in first half. Director trailed the movie scene by scene testing the patience of audience while close up shots on Nithya Menon gave some relief. In one line, Ishq is a better project from Nitin than his past flicks but specifically not to have a hit run.

Verdict:

Contrast attempt by Nitin as a decent lover boy. Nithya Menon is enchanting as her Ala Modalaindi kind of chirpy characterization continued. PC Sreeram’s camera work and Anup Rubens presenting a delightful work, Ishq has something to offer for class public.

Ranga is just a tailor made role for Sunil. He justified it with perfection. His six pack body is terrific and needs applause for his hard work. One more highlight is his dancing skills.

Isha Chawla suited well for the role. Her selection as heroine is justified. Her acting skills and dancing skills are good.

Inspired by her parents story, Parvathi tries to reunite with Arun.Climax is how Arun reciprocates to Parvathi. Watch the movie to know whether it is a ‘Love failure’ or ‘Love Success’ story.

Performance
Siddharth in lover boy role is routine. There is no energy in his character. He is more of a preacher than an actor in the movie.Amala Paul did better job than Siddharth in the movie. Siddharth friends Vignesh, Shiva, James and Rama acted well as debutants. Suresh and Surekha Vani are routine.

Technical
Debutant director Balaji Mohan inexperience is clearly visible in handling the script to directing the scenes. He failed to bring out the right emotions in love scenes between Siddharth and Amala Paul. Scenes between Amala Paul and Suresh not handled properly. Documentary type screenplay is big minus to the movie.S S Thaman composed couple of good songs. But background score is not up to the mark. Cinematography, Editing, costumes and all other departments are below par.

Analysis
The script of the movie is very routine and known one to one and all. Director added couple of other love episodes to consume the reel. Vignesh and Shiva role is entertaining compared to  Siddharth and Amala Paul. The film chances are very bleak at the box office for its weak story and not having commercial elements. Movie might appeal to a small segment of collage going students  who are in love. Overall, a passable film…

Ravi Teja Nippu Movie Review

Film: Nippu Rating:2.25/5

Starring: Ravi Teja, Deeksha Seth, Rajendra Prasad, Pradeep Rawant

Director: Gunashekar

Producer: YVS Choudary

Banner: Bommarillu Movies

Music: Thaman S
Nippu has three big names of Mass Maharaja Raviteja, director Gunashekhar and producer YVS Chowdary attached to raise curiosity in public. All three have the track record of giving superb hits and let us see how igniting this Nippu is made by them as the film is released today.

Story:

Surya (Raviteja) is a fearless daring guy leading a goalless life working as gym coach. He takes on with the villain group of Raja Goud (Pradeep Rawat). Soon story shifts to Saudi Arabia and some interesting things happen with the life of Surya’s close friend Sri Ram (Sri Ram). Towards the different side, Surya gets into love with Sri Ram’s sister Meghna (Deeksha Seth) who is also the daughter of good man Murthi Garu (Rajendra Prasad).

Sri Ram working in Saudi is fixed into murder case of his lover Vaishnavi (Bhavana) and is given the death penalty. Surya alone knows that Vaishnavi is dead accidentally and he wants to save his friend. Courts of Saudi allow the cancellation of Sri Ram’s death sentence only if parents of Vaishnavi agree for. Parents of Vaishnavi are none other than Raja Goud and Surekhs (Aswini Khalsekar) living in Surypapet. How did Surya save his friend and win the trust of Raja Goud and Murthi Garu is rest of the movie story.

Performance:

Raviteja gives regular mass mannerisms and energetic dialogue delivery with needful punches. He is very good in fighting scenes. His romance with Deeksha Seth is hilarious. Both of them have shown good on screen chemistry after the sparkling romance in Mirapakay. Heroine Deeksha Seth is glamorous giving ample skin show in the form of Running Competition. Comedy by Brahmanandam as Kasi is just average. Sri Ram is cute and good to his role. Rajendra Prasad is good at emotions. Pradeep Rawat, Mukul Dev stood routine villains. Brahmaji, Supreet are good as sidekicks to Pradeep Rawat. Director Harish Shankar’s cameo was fine. Friends batch of Krishnudu, Jogi and others have done their job.

Analysis:

Nippu runs just on the formula of regular Telugu films. This is a simple tale of friendship that is gone directionless in first half. Narration by Gunashekhar has decent pace with no build up of emotions. Strength of Raviteja is comedy and this is very weak in Nippu. Despite of having wonderful artists, director failed to raise the interest by giving no scope or importance in characterization of any. Music by Thaman or dialogues by Akula Siva were insipid. There are plenty of areas in narration which lacked in convincing the subject. Some fight compositions resembled that of comedy fight sequences by Balakrishna in Vijayendra Prasad and Okka Magadu. Movie demanded a better screenplay and effective story telling by Gunashekhar as all the hard work of Raviteja is wasted.

Verdict:

Director Gunashekhar fails to deliver a hit again. Hero Raviteja and producer YVS Chowdary can wait for sinking of movie soon. Unlike the title ‘Nippu,’ this movie is made with a ‘Thuppu’ (Rust) story which is sure to flop.
